Cambridge, New Zealand - Not What I'd Expected!

Image
A traditional telephone booth is now a Book Exchange After miles and miles of rolling deep green hills dotted with sheep and cattle, we arrive in  Cambridge . Much to our surprise and delight, it was not at all what we expected to find 135 kilometres (83.9 miles) from Auckland.   Cambridge is a quaint mix of colonial traditional and hipster all set amongst well maintained lush gardens and flagstone pavements.  And as we were to discover,  Cambridge  is not only home to dairy farmers and horse breeders but also elite athletes. National sport organisations like cycling, rowing, and triathlon are based here.  Enjoying the Autumn Sunshine at Cafe Rouge paddock cafe grow their own herbs.. Town Clock St Andrews Anglican Church Maungatautari Road Heading out of downtown Cambridge toward Sakura ( Health Spa & Retreat ), the tree lined streets surround Lake Karapiro. There is the purpose built Te Awa 8km walk/cycle way, (w

Your Profile Photo Is The Most Important Thing On LinkedIn

Image
You know yourself when looking over someone's profile on LinkedIn, the first thing you do is check out their photo.  I personally get messages and requests daily. If there isn't a photo, I delete it immediately. If it is a bad photo, I think about it a second, then delete it. If it is a nice professional photo showing a confident business person, I definitely check out their profile and most likely add them as a contact. Don't just take my word for it.  The Ladders research into recruiter behaviour proves it. As shown in the heat map below, whilst looking over profiles, the first place the recruiter looked was the photo and they spent 19% of their total time looking at it. That's a lot of heat! Business Insider has some great tips on the do's and don'ts for you profile photo. And as it isn't that expensive, I would say it is an easy investment. My basic headshot sessions are only $175 and this image should last you a good couple of year

Puppies In The Studio! - Australian Support Dogs (ASDOG)

Image
How much fun is my job! Today I got to photograph some very special puppies. These puppies are in training to provide support to people with physical disabilities.  Not to be confused with the guide dogs, Support Dogs are trained to get the mail, fetch your car keys, grab a tin of food from the pantry, open the fridge or oven door even grab the phone for their person. Besides which, they are really cute and wonderful companions. ASDOG is a non profit organisation so they do rely on the support of our community which is why I was happy to help. Engagement Photos - Brad and Tatum

Image
Threatened by one of Sydney's ominous summer thunderstorms, we had to work hastily on this engagement shoot.  As it was overcast, the neutral coloured clothing was perfect for the natural tone look that I wanted for the beach shots and a terrific contrast for the greenery shots. Especially seeing that we didn't have time for clothing changes. The little beach was lovely and there was just enough light to catch a sparkle in the eyes. When it started to drizzle, the forest provided us with protection as well as a gorgeous backdrop! You can view the entire short shoot on my website .

LinkedIn Top 5% Most Viewed Profile!

Image
Pretty decent. My husband said, "Hey, can you do that for me?" I replied, "write something interesting!" There really isn't a secret. I'm no SEO genius. Actually far from it. There are a couple of things that I did learn at college.  Use headlines with your top keywords, which you have already figured from Google Adwords  .  I'm a visual person so of course my posts have interesting photographs which have been loaded with keywords. Make sure you write more than 100 interesting words in your post because Google gives you priority. Include lots of links in your post. Label your post with loads of relevant keywords. Share your posts on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google Plus...etc. I have links to social media on my website. It's kind of like a big circle. Each venue takes you to the next one! Include links to all of your social media venues. Post regularly. I think that's about it! Happy posting...

Beautiful Child Portraits - The Loveliest Children

Image
What fabulous children! So happy and obliging. We had a fun time shooting on different backgrounds and locations here at my Chatswood Studio. Whilst some children last minutes, these children gave me an incredible amount of time. I tired well before they did. They loved having their photographs taken and it shows.

Location Business Portraits - Russell Investments

Image
Russell Investments , money management professionals were totally amazing to shoot. Each executive was completely natural in front of the camera so we got some wonderful shots and because we were able to setup the studio on location in the King Street offices, the shoot went seamlessly with minimal interruption to their busy day.
